What are the "Most famous Myths in Cricket History"

 Cricket is known as gentlemen game. The cricket is most beloved sport in South Asia. Throughout cricket history, People add and include many myths in this game of gentlemen. Today we count the most famous myths in cricket history which are most common and people believe them true.

No one has ever hit a six against Sir Curtly Ambrose:



Sir Curtly Ambrose is probably one of the best fast bowler from West Indies. This 6.7 feet bowler is one of his kind. He played 98 test and take 405 wickets at an average of 21. And played 176 one days and take 225 wickets. There is a myth about him that nobody has hit a six against him.

It not true, its a myth. No doubt that he is a classy bowler but many player hit him for a six. Inzamam ul Haq hit him for a six when Ambrose try to sledge him. Steve Waugh former Australian skipper also hit six against him on yorker delivery. Other players who hit six against him are Imran Khan, Basit Ali, Virender Sehwag, Colin Miller and many.

Imran Khan and Kapil Dev never bowled a no ball:



Imran Khan and Kapil Dev are the all round cricketers from Pakistan and India respectively. The myth about them is that they never bowled no ball in there career. The cricket fans also said that Dennis Lillee, Ian Botham too never bowled a no ball. 

No doubt that they are phenomenal bowlers but they bowl no balls too. Imran Khan bowls a no ball in 1992 world cup. Kapil Dev bowled a noball in his 1st over in Test.

Ricky Ponting Spring Bat:




Ricky Ponting is Australia highest run scorer in international cricket and one of the most successful captains in international cricket history. Under his captaincy Australia won many trophies and achievements. Which include famous 2003 and 2007 world cups.

In 2003 world cup final against India, he played a true heroic knock of 140 not out on 121 balls including 8 sixes and 4 fours. And Australia won the world cup. Then this famous myth came out that he used a spring bat in his inning. 

The story behind is that a week after finals the world celebrates April fools. The spring bat is rumour spread as a prank which people take seriously. The media released a statement that

"Ponting use spring in his bat. Thus as a cheating his runs are cancelled, due to this India are the champion and declared as world cup winners"

People considered this prank as a reality and this myth or rumour became popular.

You've just dropped the World Cup:



Its another myth related to world cups. The South Africa team and Australia are playing against each other to reach to the semi finals in super six stage. At one stage South Africa is winning the match, then Steve Waugh came and scored his ODIs career second century. He scores 120 not out on 110 balls. When he scores his fifty then he played a flick shot against Lance Klusener and ball directly goes to Gibbs hands and he tried to throw ball in air but in excitement the ball slipped from his hand and catch was dropped.

Then Waugh came and actually said this to him: "Do you realise you've just cost your team the match". But someone mis listened it and says that Waugh said "You've just dropped the World Cup".

Adolf Hitler killed the German Cricket Team:



This myth is most popular myth in cricket history. Many people believe that it really happen and confidently tell this myth to other. 

Once Hitler went to watch a cricket match between England and Germany on 4th day of the play. Then days later he asked about who won the match, upon hearing that the match was drawn and no one win. He banned cricket in Germany and say that a sport which lasts for 5 long days and produce no result is just harmful for the nation  or waste of time. 

Some says that this is what really happened. He did not kill any cricketer. But banned cricket in his country.
